The Body Mass Index is a very simple and useful tool to assess if the person is underweight, overweight or falls into the “normal” category.
This index has, however, one serious shortcoming: BMI only works for untrained individuals.
You can therefore use this calculator to learn about your body before you start with physical training.
Once you start gaining muscle mass, BMI is useless.
