Box jump
Starting position:
Stand in front of the box with your feet a little more than shoulder apart with arms relaxed alongside your body.
Exercise:
From the starting position, jump up onto the box/platform and land in a squat position on top of it. Jump with both feet simultaneously from a previous mild squat position. Use motion from your hands to help you jump. Stand up straight after the squat on the box/platform and then jump down from the box.
Remember:
Keep your body core firm all the time and do not bend at the waist and keep your pelvis in a neutral position.
Pay attention to your knees when you land on top of the box in a squat position. Keep your knees parallel with your toes and do not swing or rotate them in or out.
When jumping up and landing on the box keep in mind correct spine curvature.
Recommendation:
Choose the box/platform height appropriate for your fitness level. Start with a lower platform.
